Care Actions > VII. Discovery

Being my daughter’s mother has taken me to many places I did not expect.

Education, thinking about how we learn and how we teach and the proceses, systems and pedagogies used to transmit knowledge has become one of my main areas of interest.

In 2017 I found out about marine biologist Rachel Carson, one of many relevant women lost in the hegemonic historical account.

Carson was, among other things, the author of several beautifully written books. Among them this one gem made it into my hands. Only the title, The Sense of Wonder is already enough make you think about education from another stand point. I read the book and I decided it would make a wonderful present for many people who I knew would find discovery and solace in her words.

Gifting this book is an ongoing action within the Seeds for Resistance project.
