Something Irene Pe has learned in the process of living with a chronic illness in an ableist and capitalist world is that rage is one of the feelings, perhaps along with frustration, that often appears. And there are times when the almost daily situations that lead to these feelings exhaust and defeat her. And there are other times when rage gives way to fury, and the mind seeks ways to imagine other possibilities in which the body, already considered monstrous due to its sick condition, can intentionally mutate into something that protects as a shield and can used as a weapon at the same time.
Both the poem and the work ::seventh mutation:: are a cry of rage and a desire for shelter.

Algo que Irene Pe ha aprendido en el proceso de con/vivir con una enfermedad crónica en un mundo capacitista y capitalista, es que la rabia es uno de los sentiminetos, quizás junto con la frustración, que aparece a menudo. Y hay momentos en que las situaciones casi diarias que la llevan a estos sentimientos la agotan y la derrotan.Y hay otros momentos que la rabia da a lugar a la furia y la mente busca maneras de imaginar otras posibilidades en las que el cuerpo, ya de por si considerado mostruoso por su condicion enferma, pueda mutar intencionalmente en algo que proteja como caparazón y que sea arma a la vez.
Ambos, el poema y la obra ::séptima mutación::, són a la vez un grito de rábia y un deseo de cobijo.
