Fabric, house paint and thread.

I reuse existent materials and/or objects not only out of concern for the environment, but also because such materials and objects intrinsically carry certain significance and history that are at the conceptual core of the artwork.

Home (a history) reproduces the floor plan of the house I grew up and lived in Spain up until I moved to the United States in 1999. The fabric utilized to make the work used to be the curtains that hanged in that house's living room. Later, the curtains hanged in one of the apartments I lived in the U.S. and they finally served as floor protection while I painted the walls of my new house. Thus, this fabric and the work carry a history not only of events but also of coming of age and cultural identity struggle that moving from one country to another, from one home to the creation of a new one, represents.
